Jabir relates that the Holy Prophet said: When you have finished your Prayer in the mosque you should offer the rest of your Prayer at home for Allah will bless your home because of your Prayer (Muslim). (Al-Jumu`ah 12)
Gardens of the Righteous, On the Preference of Offering Voluntary Prayer at Home, Hadith Number 1135, Page Number 201Umar ibn Ata relates that Nafi‘ ibn Jubair sent him to Saib ibn Ukht to inquire from him about what Mu‘awiah had said about his Prayer. Saib told him: I offered the Friday Prayer with him and when the Imam had said the salam | stood up in my place and offered the sunnahs. When Mu'‘awiah went inside he sent for me and told me: Never do again what you did just now. Once you have finished the Friday Prayer do not immediately continue with the sunnah unless you have spoken to someone or have shifted your place, for the Holy Prophet commanded us that we should not follow up the congregational Prayer with swmnah unless we had talked to someone or had shifted our place (Muslim).
Gardens of the Righteous, On the Preference of Offering Voluntary Prayer at Home, Hadith Number 1136, Page Number 201Ali has said: Vitr (odd) Prayer is not obligatory like the prescribed Prayers but the Holy Prophet always offered Vitr and said: Allah is One and loves Vitr. So offer Vitr Prayers, O ye who follow the Quran (Abu Daud and Tirmidhi). (As-Sajdah 18, Adh-Dhariyat 19)

Another version is: When the time came for his Vitr Prayer, he would say to me: Ayesha, wake up and offer your Vitr Prayer. (As-Sajdah 18, Adh-Dhariyat 19)

Gardens of the Righteous, On the Importance of Vitr, Hadith Number 1142, Page Number 202Jabir relates that the Holy Prophet said: He who apprehends that he might not be able to get up in the latter part of the night should offer his Vitr Prayer during the early part of the night, but he who is eager to get up in the latter part should offer his Vitr Prayer at that time for in the latter part of the night there is the presence of angels and Prayer at that time is best (Muslim).
